2025 Toyota Tacoma Driveshaft Recall
2025 TOYOTA TACOMA: POWER TRAIN:DRIVELINE:DRIVESHAFT
Updated October 1, 2025
Toyota is recalling certain 2025 Tacoma and Tacoma Hybrid vehicles because the front driveshaft constant-velocity (CV) joint can deform and break. A broken driveshaft can impair steering or, on full-time 4WD models, allow the vehicle to roll away while parked, both of which increase the risk of a crash.
Is the Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing recalled? Yes. This product was recalled by NHTSA on October 1, 2025. Details below.
What is recalled
Certain 2025 Toyota Tacoma and 2025 Toyota Tacoma Hybrid vehicles with a front driveshaft CV joint that may deform and break. Toyota recall numbers: 25TB11 and 25TA11. NHTSA recall ID: 25V656000.
Am I affected
You are affected if you own a 2025 Toyota Tacoma or 2025 Toyota Tacoma Hybrid. Check your NHTSA recall ID (25V656000) or Toyota recall numbers (25TB11 or 25TA11) against your VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls to confirm your specific vehicle is included.
What to do right now
Take your vehicle to a Toyota dealer, who will inspect and replace both front driveshaft assemblies as needed at no charge. Until the repair is done, apply the parking brake every time you park, especially if your vehicle has full-time 4WD. Toyota mailed interim safety-risk notices on November 14, 2025; final remedy letters are expected by June 2026. Contact Toyota customer service at 1-800-331-4331 with any questions.

The hazard
A broken driveshaft can impair steering. Vehicles with full-time 4WD may experience a vehicle rollaway while parked without the parking brake applied. Both scenarios increase the risk of a crash.
