Nissan Rogue 2023-2025 VC-Turbo Engine Recall
2025 NISSAN ROGUE: ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:ENGINE:HARD PARTS INTERNAL/MECHANICAL
Updated February 12, 2026
Nissan is recalling certain 2023 to 2025 Rogue SUVs with 1.5L 3-cylinder VC-Turbo engines because heat can break down the engine oil, causing the engine bearings to seize and the engine to fail. A failed engine can cut power while driving or cause hot oil to leak from a cracked engine block, creating a fire risk.
Is the Nissan North America, Inc. recalled? Yes. This product was recalled by NHTSA on February 12, 2026. Details below.
What is recalled
2023, 2024, and 2025 Nissan Rogue vehicles equipped with a 3-cylinder 1.5L variable compression turbo (VC-Turbo) engine. Nissan recall numbers R25E2 and R25E3 (expanding previous NHTSA recall 25V437). NHTSA recall number 26V080. VINs covered by this recall will be searchable at NHTSA.gov starting February 27, 2026.
Am I affected
You are affected if you own a 2023, 2024, or 2025 Nissan Rogue with a 3-cylinder 1.5L VC-Turbo engine. Check your VIN at NHTSA.gov (searchable from February 27, 2026) or call Nissan at 800-647-7261 to confirm whether your specific vehicle is included.
What to do right now
Take your vehicle to a Nissan dealer for a free repair. The dealer will reprogram the engine control module (ECM) software, check for diagnostic trouble codes, and test drive the vehicle. If needed, the dealer will also inspect the oil pan for metal debris and replace the engine, all at no cost to you. Owner notification letters were mailed April 8, 2026. Call Nissan customer service at 800-647-7261 with any questions.

The hazard
Engine failure can cause a loss of drive power, increasing the risk of a crash. A bearing failure may cause a breach in the engine block, allowing hot oil to be discharged, increasing the risk of an engine fire.
