Joyin Expands Recall of Sloosh Dive Sticks Due to Risk of Serious Injury from Impalement; Violate Federal Dive Sticks Ban

Joyin is expanding its recall of Sloosh dive sticks because they are too rigid and can impale a child who falls or lands on one in shallow water. Serious piercing injuries, including facial and eye injuries, are possible.
Is the Sloosh Dive Sticks, models 40041, 40003 and 16154 recalled? Yes. This product was recalled by CPSC on July 30, 2026. Details below.
What is recalled
Sloosh dive sticks made of hard, cylinder-shaped plastic, approximately 7 inches long and 1 inch or less in diameter, sold in various colors under three model numbers: Model 40041 (sold before October 23, 2025), included in a 30-piece Sloosh water toys box; Model 40003 (sold before December 31, 2025), included in an 18-piece Sloosh water toys box; and Model 16154 (sold before December 31, 2025), sold as a standalone set of 8 dive sticks in a polybag. Model numbers for 40041 and 40003 are printed on the back of the box near the barcode and on one end of each stick. Model 16154's number is printed on the polybag above the barcode and on one end of each stick.
Am I affected
You are affected if you own Sloosh dive sticks matching any of these models: 40041 sold before October 23, 2025; 40003 sold before December 31, 2025; or 16154 sold before December 31, 2025. Check the back of the box near the barcode, or the polybag above the barcode, and one end of each stick for the model number. Note: only the dive sticks are recalled. Other items in the Sloosh water toys package are not affected and can still be used.
What to do right now
Stop using the recalled dive sticks right away and keep them away from children. Dispose of the sticks, then take a photo of them in the trash and email it to Joyin at support@joyin.com. The hazard
The recalled dive sticks violate the federal dive sticks ban because they exceeded the compress limit, posing an impalement hazard. In shallow water, children may fall or land on a dive stick, resulting in serious piercing injuries. Facial and eye injuries are also possible when children attempt to retrieve the sticks underwater.
