Joyin Recalls Sloosh Dive Sticks Due to Risk of Serious Injury from Impalement; Violate Federal Dive Sticks Ban

Joyin is recalling Sloosh dive sticks (model 40041) sold as part of the 30-piece Sloosh water toys package. The hard plastic sticks are too rigid, violating the federal dive sticks ban, and can impale a child who falls on one in shallow water, causing serious piercing, facial, or eye injuries.

What is recalled

Sloosh dive sticks, model 40041, sold inside the 30-piece Sloosh water toys package by Joyin. The dive sticks are hard plastic, cylinder-shaped, approximately 7 inches long and 1 inch or less in diameter, and come in various colors. The model number 40041 is printed on the back of the box next to the barcode and on one end of each dive stick along with Joyin's name. Only the five dive sticks inside packages sold before October 23, 2025 are recalled. The other items in the package are not affected.

Am I affected

You're affected if you have the Sloosh water toys package and the model number 40041 appears on the back of the box (next to the barcode) or on the end of a dive stick, AND the package was purchased before October 23, 2025. The other toys in the package are not recalled.

What to do right now

Stop using the recalled dive sticks right away and keep them away from children. Throw the dive sticks in the trash, then take a photo of them in the trash and email it to Joyin at support@joyin.com. The hazard

The recalled dive sticks violate the federal dive sticks ban because they exceeded the compress limit, posing an impalement hazard. In shallow water, children may fall or land on a dive stick, resulting in serious piercing injuries. Facial and eye injuries are also possible when children attempt to retrieve the sticks underwater.
