Joyin Recalls Sloosh Dive Sticks Due to Risk of Serious Injury from Impalement; Violate Federal Dive Sticks Ban

Joyin is recalling Sloosh dive sticks (model 40041) sold as part of a 30-piece water toys package because the sticks are too rigid and violate the federal dive sticks ban. In shallow water, a child can fall or land on one of these hard plastic sticks and suffer serious impalement, facial, or eye injuries.

What is recalled
Sloosh dive sticks, model 40041, sold inside the Sloosh water toys package (30-piece set). The sticks are hard plastic, cylinder-shaped, roughly 7 inches long and 1 inch or less in diameter, and come in various colors. Model number 40041 is printed on the back of the box near the bar code and on one end of each dive stick. Only dive sticks from Sloosh water toys packages sold before October 23, 2025 are recalled. The other items in the package are not affected.
Am I affected
You're affected if you have a Sloosh water toys package with model number 40041 printed on the back of the box (near the bar code) or on the end of the dive sticks, AND the package was purchased before October 23, 2025. Check the box and the sticks for "40041" and the Joyin name. If both match, the dive sticks in that package are recalled.
What to do right now
Stop using the dive sticks immediately and keep them away from children. Throw them away, then take a photo of the disposed sticks in the trash and email it to Joyin at support@joyin.com. Joyin will then send you replacement dive sticks that meet federal safety regulations. The hazard
The recalled dive sticks violate the federal dive sticks ban because they exceeded the compress limit, posing an impalement hazard. In shallow water, children may fall or land on a dive stick, resulting in serious piercing injuries. Facial and eye injuries are also possible when children attempt to retrieve the sticks underwater.
