The switch that controls easy-entry second-row outer seats in certain Ford Explorer and Aviator vehicles may stick or bind, causing the seat to unlatch, tip, or slide unexpectedly. A moving seat could fail to restrain an occupant properly in a crash, increasing the risk of injury.

An interim letter explaining the safety risk is expected to arrive July 27, 2026; a second letter with repair details will arrive around January 2027. Do not ignore these letters.
