The switch that controls easy-entry second-row outer seats in certain Ford Explorer and Aviator vehicles may stick or bind, causing the seat to unlatch, tip, or slide unexpectedly. A moving seat could fail to restrain an occupant properly in a crash, increasing the risk of injury.

Contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332 or wait for a letter in the mail. Ford will inspect and replace the bezel around the seat switch for free. An interim letter explaining the safety risk is expected to arrive July 27, 2026; a second letter with repair details will arrive around January 2027. Do not ignore these letters.
