EVLWZL & Gunugu Mattress Recall: Fire Hazard
EVLWZL and Gunugu Mattresses Recalled Due to Risk of Serious Injury or Death from Fire Hazard; Violates Mandatory Standard for Mattress Flammability
Updated May 7, 2026
EVLWZL and Gunugu brand mattresses have been recalled because they fail the mandatory federal flammability standard for mattresses, posing a risk of serious injury or death from fire. Affected mattresses should be taken out of service immediately until the free repair cover is installed.
Is the EVLWZL and Gunugu Mattresses recalled? Yes. This product was recalled by CPSC on May 7, 2026. Details below.
What is recalled
EVLWZL and Gunugu brand mattresses, available in 10-inch and 12-inch thicknesses, sold in twin, full, queen, and king sizes. The mattresses have a black top and sides and were sold compressed in a box. Look for a white sewn-on label on the mattress cover listing fiber content, size, and "WG/P Foundation," and a black sewn-on label on the front side reading "EVLWZL."
Am I affected
You're affected if you own a mattress branded EVLWZL or Gunugu in any of these sizes, twin, full, queen, or king, in either 10-inch or 12-inch thickness. Check the sewn-on labels: a white label on the cover should show the size and "WG/P Foundation," and a black label on the front side should read "EVLWZL." If both match, stop using the mattress now.
What to do right now
Stop using the mattress immediately. Contact EVLWZL by email at EVLWZLMattressrecall@outlook.com to request your free fitted cover. Once installed, the cover brings the mattress into compliance with federal flammability standards. Do not use the mattress again until you have received and applied the cover.
