EEMB USA Recalls Battery Pouches Due to Risk of Serious Injury or Death from Battery Ingestion; Violate Federal Statute for Child-Resistant Packaging of Coin Batteries

EEMB USA is recalling lithium coin batteries sold in individual white pouches because the packaging is not child-resistant as required by law. If a young child swallows one of these button-cell batteries, it can cause severe internal chemical burns or death.

What is recalled
EEMB lithium coin batteries sold in individual white pouches, in 5-, 10-, or 20-count packs. Affected models: CR2025, CR2032, CR2450, CR2477, CR2016, CR1220, CR1225, CR1616, CR1620, CR1632, and CR2025-10. "EEMB" and the battery type are printed on the face of each coin battery. "EEMB" also appears in the upper left corner of the white pouch.
Am I affected
You're affected if you have EEMB lithium coin batteries in a white pouch and the model printed on the battery or pouch is one of these: CR2025, CR2032, CR2450, CR2477, CR2016, CR1220, CR1225, CR1616, CR1620, CR1632, or CR2025-10. Check both the battery face and the upper left corner of the pouch for the "EEMB" name to confirm the brand.
What to do right now
Stop using these batteries immediately. Move them somewhere children absolutely cannot reach. Then contact EEMB USA to get a full refund, email info@a2batt.com or visit www.eemb.com/recall for instructions. When disposing of the batteries, follow your local hazardous-waste or recycling procedures; do not put coin batteries in regular household trash.
