CVS Health Medicated Hemorrhoidal Wipes are being recalled because the packaging is not child-resistant as required by law. The wipes contain lidocaine, and if a young child ingests the contents, it can cause serious injury or death.

What is recalled

CVS Health Medicated Hemorrhoidal Wipes, sold in boxes of 20 individually wrapped, flushable wipe packets. The box and each packet display the CVS Health logo, a yellow heart, "Rapid Pain Relief," and "Medicated Hemorrhoidal Wipes."

Am I affected

You are affected if you have a box of CVS Health Medicated Hemorrhoidal Wipes with "Rapid Pain Relief" printed on the packaging. Check for the yellow heart and CVS Health logo on the front of the box or individual packets.

What to do right now

Right now, move the wipes somewhere young children absolutely cannot see or reach them. Then contact CVS for a full refund. You will be asked to return any unopened packets along with the retail box to any CVS store. The hazard

The recalled medicated wipes contain lidocaine, which must be in child-resistant packaging, as required by the Poison Prevention Packaging Act. The packaging of the wipes is not child-resistant, posing a risk of serious injury or death from poisoning if the contents of the wipes are ingested by young children.
