Certain 2026 BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe, X1, X2, and Mini Countryman S ALL4 vehicles have defective rear seat belt retractors that may not lock properly in a crash. A damaged retractor can fail to restrain occupants, increasing injury risk.

2026 BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe, X1, X2, and Mini Countryman S ALL4 vehicles with damaged housing pins in rear (left and/or right) seat belt retractors.

What to do right now
Contact BMW customer service at 1-800-525-7417 to schedule a free replacement of your rear seat belts. Dealers will perform the replacement at no charge. Owner notification letters were mailed December 18, 2025.
