Certain 2025 BMW motorcycle models with an optional emergency call system (eCall) may have the system deactivated due to a software error. If you crash, first responders won't be notified of your location, risking a dangerous delay in emergency response.

What is recalled
2025 BMW F 900 GS, F 800 GS, R 1300 GS Adventure, R 1300 GS, S 1000 RR, S 1000 R, and K 1600 GT motorcycles equipped with the optional emergency call system (eCall).

You're affected if you own a 2025 BMW F 900 GS, F 800 GS, R 1300 GS Adventure, R 1300 GS, S 1000 RR, S 1000 R, or K 1600 GT and have the optional emergency call system installed.
What to do right now
Contact BMW customer service at 1-800-525-7417 to arrange a free software update to your electronic control unit. The update can be done over-the-air or at a BMW dealer. Owner notification letters will be mailed September 12, 2025.
