Autobrush Recalls Sonic Pro Children's Toothbrush Boxes Due to Risk of Serious Injury or Death from Battery Ingestion; Violates Mandatory Standard for Consumer Products with Coin Batteries

Autobrush is recalling the cardboard delivery boxes that come with its Sonic Pro Kids electric toothbrushes because the box contains a coin cell battery that young children can easily reach and swallow. Swallowing a coin battery can cause internal chemical burns and death.

What is recalled
The recalled item is the cardboard delivery box (not the toothbrush itself) used to ship the Autobrush Sonic Pro Kids electric toothbrush. The box has a white tray on its underside with a speaker powered by a lithium coin cell battery. The box is printed with "autobrush KIDS," the model name, and one of four animal images matching these models: Unity the Unicorn, Lenni the Lion, Harley the Hippo, and Danny the Dino.
Am I affected
You're affected if you have the cardboard delivery box that came with an Autobrush Sonic Pro Kids toothbrush. Check the box for the "autobrush KIDS" label and one of the four animal models (Unity the Unicorn, Lenni the Lion, Harley the Hippo, or Danny the Dino). If your box has a white tray on the underside with a speaker, it contains the recalled coin cell battery.
What to do right now
Stop using the box immediately and keep it away from children. Write "Recalled" on the box with a permanent marker, then take a photo of the marked box and email it to recall-support@autobrush.com to receive a $5 store credit refund. After sending the photo, dispose of the box following your local hazardous waste procedures for coin cell batteries. The hazard
The recalled delivery boxes violate the mandatory standard for consumer products containing button cell and coin batteries because they contain a lithium coin battery that can be easily accessed by children, posing an ingestion hazard. The packaging also does not bear the required warning labels for products containing such batteries as required by Reese's Law. If button cell or coin batteries are swallowed, the ingested batteries can cause serious injuries, including internal chemical burns, and death.
