Autobrush Recalls Sonic Pro Children's Toothbrush Boxes Due to Risk of Serious Injury or Death from Battery Ingestion; Violates Mandatory Standard for Consumer Products with Coin Batteries

Autobrush has recalled the delivery boxes for its Sonic Pro Kids electric toothbrushes because the cardboard box contains an easily accessible lithium coin battery that young children can swallow. Ingesting a coin battery can cause internal chemical burns and death.

What is recalled
The recalled item is the cardboard delivery box (not the toothbrush itself) that came with the Autobrush Sonic Pro Kids toothbrush. The white tray inside the box has a speaker with a coin cell battery on its underside. Affected boxes are labeled "autobrush KIDS" and carry one of four model names, Unity the Unicorn, Lenni the Lion, Harley the Hippo, or Danny the Dino, along with a matching animal image.
Am I affected
You're affected if you have an Autobrush Sonic Pro Kids toothbrush delivery box at home. Check the box for the "autobrush KIDS" label and one of the four model names (Unity the Unicorn, Lenni the Lion, Harley the Hippo, Danny the Dino). If the white inner tray has a speaker on its underside, your box contains the recalled coin battery.
What to do right now
Stop using the box immediately and keep it away from children. Write "Recalled" on the box in permanent marker, photograph it, and email the photo to recall-support@autobrush.com to receive a $5 store-credit refund. Then dispose of the box, and the coin battery, following your local hazardous waste procedures. The hazard
The recalled delivery boxes violate the mandatory standard for consumer products containing button cell and coin batteries because they contain a lithium coin battery that can be easily accessed by children, posing an ingestion hazard. The packaging also does not bear the required warning labels for products containing such batteries as required by Reese's Law. If button cell or coin batteries are swallowed, the ingested batteries can cause serious injuries, including internal chemical burns, and death.
