The rear axle carrier in certain 2026 Lexus TX and Toyota Grand Highlander vehicles may be too weak and could break, causing a sudden loss of vehicle control and increasing crash risk.

2026 Lexus TX Plug-In Hybrid, TX Hybrid, TX, and 2026 Toyota Grand Highlander Hybrid and Grand Highlander vehicles.

What to do right now
Contact Toyota customer service at 1-800-331-4331 or wait for your owner notification letter (expected August 23, 2026). A dealer will inspect your rear axle carrier and replace it for free if needed. Reference Toyota recall numbers 26TB13, 26TA13, 26LB08, or 26LA08.
